Tremar The Pig and Whistle Money Box/Piggy Bank

Tremar The Pig and Whistle Money Box/Piggy Bank (I believe this is Cockney slang for The Beer and Suit. Pig is short for pig's ear which rhymes with beer. And whistle is short for whistle and flute which rhymes with suit.)

The donkey below is a somewhat unusual piece. I am including it in the Money Box/Piggy Bank section, but some might argue that it doesn’t belong here. This piece does not have a coin slot cut along the back. It seems that a coin slot along the lines of the one found on the Gosling/Duck/Goose Money Box/Piggy Bank or on the Sheepdog Money Box/Piggy Bank would be appropriate, but it’s not there. On the other hand, there is a hole in the bottom of the piece that is very much like the holes found in the bottoms of the other Tremar Pottery Money Boxes/Piggy Banks. In addition to that, when I got this pieces, there was a stopper of the type that Tremar Potteries often used to plug the hole on its Money Boxes/Piggy Banks. I think it is likely that someone at Tremar neglected to cut the coin slot in the back of this piece before firing.
